We're seeking a dynamic and results-oriented VP of Business Development to join our growing team. In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in shaping our company's future by identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic partnerships and acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies aligned with our long-term goals in diabetes care.
- Transaction Management: Lead the entire transaction process, from deal sourcing to closing, ensuring seamless collaboration across teams.
- Partner Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with potential partners in the diabetes space, including biotech, pharma, academia, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and competitive landscapes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, regulatory, legal, finance, and marketing teams to ensure successful execution of business development initiatives.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Business, or a related field; an advanced degree (MBA, PhD, etc.) is preferred.
- At least 5+ years of experience in business development, transaction management, partnerships, or acquisitions within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industries, with a strong focus on diabetes. Business Development is the core function of this role.
- Extensive In-licensing & Out-licensing and Merger & Acquisition experience.
- Demonstrated success in managing, supporting and closing at least 5 transactions.
- Knowledge of diabetes landscape, including regulatory requirement and market trends.
- Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Strong network within the diabetes and broader biotech/pharmaceutical industries is a plus.
