Our client is currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer. This is a unique opportunity to join a talented team and be part of their growth and success. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer , you will be responsible for mechanical engineering calculations, specifications, data sheets, Mechanical Equipment List (MEL) and vendor review and recommendation. You will provide technical expertise and support in the areas of design, calculation, operation, maintenance, field execution/supervision and project management as required. The Mechanical Engineer will also be responsible for all other tasks required to produce mechanical deliverables for ongoing studies or detailed engineering work.

Qualifications, skills, abilities and experiences we are looking for:

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering
  • Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec (OIQ)
  • Bilingual (French and English)
  • 3-7 years of experience in a similar role in the Mining, Oil & Gas or Heavy Industries with preferred on-site experience during detailed engineering, construction and commissioning
  • Experience in developing the various mechanical engineering deliverables of a project or engineering study.
  • Possess an understanding of applicable legislative standards and codes.
  • Ability to read and interpret design drawings, schematics and other engineering drawings.
  • Additional training/seminars on flotation and DMS plants, liquid pumping, slurry pumping and bulk material handling.
  • Focused on details, calculations and closing of work.
  • Possess a high level of analytical skills used to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English and French).
  • Deliver a quality product on time and on budget.
  • Knowledge of computer-aided drawing tools and navigation tools is an asset
