Senior Food Scientist - Baked Goods (Relocation)

CSG Talent are partnered with a high quality baking business who are looking to hire a Senior Food Scientist in a newly created role to play a crucial role in product development plans & strategies.

You will work closely with the existing team, working from end to end in relation to product development. We are seeking a well-rounded individual who can have a big impact at multiple stops within the product development cycle & also bring baking expertise to the team.

Please note - this position is located close to San Antonio & will be on site. Should you require relocation assistance, this is available as part of the employment package.

Responsibilities:

• Lead NPD efforts from concept to commercialization.
• Conduct bench top & production trials of new formulas/processes.
• Present innovative products to internal & external customers.
• Provide production start up support & ongoing troubleshooting during the product lifecycle.
• Works with suppliers as needed in developing new products, testing new ingredients & troubleshooting issues.
• Collaborate with the wider team (Production, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Sales and Purchasing).
• Mentor junior team members.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Bakery Science, Food Science, Food Engineering or other related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years work experience in food product development including idea generation, formulation, ingredient functionality, process design, plant testing and commercialization.
• Existing experience within baked food settings with a proven track record of developing new products within this space
• Ability to work within a team
• Strong experience in new product development specifically.
