Role Overview:

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Controls Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing automation and control systems for complex, world-first projects. You will work with multi-platform PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, integrated motion, and robotic programming, ensuring that all systems meet Australian safety standards..

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement automation and control systems.
  • Work with multi-platform PLCs, primarily Rockwell, and HMIs.
  • Integrate vision systems and motion control into automation projects.
  • Develop electrical schematics and select appropriate components.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry communication protocols and technologies.
  • Manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
  • Mentor and teach junior engineers, fostering their growth and development.
  • Ensure all designs comply with Australian safety standards and AS4024 requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of industry experience in automation and control systems.
  • Proficiency in multi-platform PLCs
  • Experience with HMI development and vision systems integration.
  • Knowledge of integrated motion control and robotic programming (KUKA, ABB).
  • Strong understanding of electrical schematic development and component selection.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of industry communication protocols.
  • Project management experience is desirable
  • Ability to manage projects from start to finish independently.
  • Experience in teaching and mentoring junior engineers.
  • Expertise in designing systems that meet Australian safety standards and AS4024 requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certification in Rockwell Automation products.
