Product Specialist Team Lead, Geology - Johannesburg

We are partnered with a leading provider of innovative software solutions, who service the mining industry from exploration to mine design, to production. We are seeking a Product Specialist Team Lead who will lead a team to deliver high quality sales outcomes and provide support to business development managers.

This new role will be responsible for high-level product support, training and pre-sales. This role will be based in Bryanston, Johannesburg, with three (3) days per week in office, with some travel across the EMEA region.

In this Product Specialist Team Lead, Geology position you will also be responsible for:

• Recruiting, engaging and developing a highly engaged team
• Working with regional Operations to maintain correct global resource level and skill sets
• Providing support to business development teams in the technical aspects of our solution selling process, including client demonstrations, input into sales proposals, customer success and support
• Identifying account enrichment opportunities for solutions through customer engagements in training and implementation
• Creating and presenting strategic technical demonstrations to customers with solution and value focus
• Working with the customer to ensure the software is being used to its optimum in the initial stages of implementation
• Providing customer support via multiple contact channels, whilst reporting significant support issues
• Providing in-house training for new staff, managers, and other staff members who require product knowledge
• Liaising with the product development team and software users during the software design cycle. This may involve canvassing users to determine the functionality of a new component, and then writing a design brief for the product development team
• Acting as point of contact for product team to identify and document technical requirements of the product for the region. This will include participating in internal testing and review of proposed software features

Essentials

• Bachelor's degree in geology, earth science or engineering

• A minimum of 7+ years' experience in analysis, design, implementation, and support of geological software solutions

• Operational experience on a mine site essential
• Based in Johannesburg.
