This role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the beef processing facility, ensuring the plant operates efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements. The role focuses on managing production, quality, safety, and staffing to meet business goals while maintaining the highest standards of product quality and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities:

Operational Management

  • Oversee all aspects of plant operations, including slaughter, processing, packaging, and distribution.
  • Develop and execute production plans to meet customer demands and optimize throughput.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, efficiency, downtime, and waste.
  • Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies.

Quality and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with USDA, FDA, HACCP, and other relevant regulatory standards.
  • Lead initiatives to maintain or improve quality assurance processes and standards.
  • Conduct regular audits to verify compliance with food safety and quality regulations.

Safety and Environment

  • Promote and enforce a strong culture of workplace safety, ensuring adherence to OSHA and other safety standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain environmental policies to minimize the plant's impact on the environment.

Leadership and Staff Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team, including production supervisors, quality assurance staff, and maintenance teams.
  • Manage workforce planning, including recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  • Foster a positive work environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.

Financial and Budget Management

  • Prepare and manage the plant's operational budget, focusing on cost control and profitability.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Report on plant performance, highlighting areas for improvement and recommending strategies.
