As Plant Manager, you will lead a team of 300 employees in our busy bakery that specializes in bread and bun production. You will have five direct reports, including department heads in production, quality control, maintenance, logistics, and safety. Your leadership will be critical in driving operational excellence, meeting production goals, and ensuring continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership:
    You will manage the daily operations of the plant, ensuring smooth production processes and that all performance targets are met. You'll ensure that production schedules are followed, quality standards are upheld, and output is optimized to meet customer demand.

  • Team Leadership and Development:
    You'll directly supervise and mentor five department heads, promoting collaboration across all teams. You will drive employee engagement initiatives and foster a positive, inclusive work environment.

  • Performance Management:
    You will monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production, quality, safety, and efficiency. Regularly assess operational data to identify improvement opportunities and implement solutions to enhance plant performance.

  • Quality and Compliance:
    You will ensure all products meet our rigorous quality standards and are produced in compliance with food safety regulations. You'll work closely with the quality control team to maintain certifications and conduct audits as needed.

  • Safety and Compliance:
    You will be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment. This includes overseeing the safety programs, ensuring adherence to OSHA standards, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the plant.

  • Continuous Improvement:
    As the Plant Manager, you will champion continuous improvement efforts, introducing new methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma to streamline processes and reduce waste, all while maintaining product quality.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in managing large-scale manufacturing operations, preferably in the food or bakery industry.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience managing large teams and developing direct reports.
  • Knowledge of production processes, safety protocols, and food safety regulations (HACCP, GMP).
  • Ability to drive performance improvements and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
