Job Title: Oracle Linux Administrator $80k to $110k base + Bonus

Client Requirements:

Our client is seeking an experienced Oracle Linux Administrator to manage and support their Oracle Linux systems in both Oracle Cloud (OCI) and on-premises environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration, database integration, and application support, with a focus on visualization and cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the administration of Oracle Linux systems, including patch management and routine operational tasks.
  • Coordinate with database administrators and application support teams to apply OS patches and updates.
  • Install, configure, and support server environments and virtualization technologies such as KVM, OLVM, and Oracle VM.
  • Maintain automated processes and ensure the stability of application and OS environments.
  • Apply expertise with Oracle ZFS storage appliances or equivalent technologies.
  • Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively in both verbal and written forms.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-10+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle Linux administration, including system software installation and support within Oracle Cloud (OCI) and on-premises infrastructures.
  • Proficiency with virtualization technologies, such as KVM, OVMM, and Oracle PCA.
  • Demonstrated experience with storage and backup solutions.
  • Strong decision-making skills relevant to the core responsibilities of the role.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with additional cloud platforms, including OCI, AWS, and Azure.
  • Knowledge of Oracle ZFS storage solutions and Oracle Engineered Systems (ODA, Oracle Exa, PCA, and ExaCS).
  • Experience with shell scripting and related automation tools.
  • Understanding of Oracle Solaris, LDOM, and Zones, VMWare, and backup and recovery tools.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 6+ years of related experience and/or training.
