CSG Talent are working with an excellent, private equity backed food manufacturing business who are looking to hire a multi-site plant controller to play a key role in growth plans & the running of 2 of their sites from a financial perspective.

In this high visibility role, you will operate in a "CFO-like" capacity, collaborating with leadership to establish strategic direction, prioritize business objectives, and achieve financial goals for two manufacturing plants. Please note that this position is based on-site in Massachusetts. We are offering relocation assistance to those interested that would be required to relocate.

Responsibilities:

  • Improve future operating performance.
  • Work closely with operations leadership team to improve financial performance.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities related to material, labor, overhead, and other types of manufacturing costs.
  • Lead the development of annual operating plans for each facility in collaboration with Ops leadership.
  • Conduct various financial modeling and analysis projects leading to new insights and actions including product costing, cost savings, special projects, and capital planning.
  • Deliver monthly financial presentations to the company's executive leadership team.
  • Prepare and analyze weekly KPI metrics, determining & analyzing variances to cost, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Manage daily cost accounting requirements and ensure that all deadlines are met
  • Evaluate business controls and processes, working with management to implement or improve controls as needed.

Requirements:

  • BS degree in Finance or Accounting
  • High level of experience in FP&A or cost accounting within a manufacturing setting, preferably one with standard costing practices.
  • Understanding of base cost accounting principles
  • Ability to tell the story behind the numbers, translating financial analysis into meaningful insights for non-financial colleagues.
  • Previous management or supervisory experience
  • Deep financial, data mining, and modeling expertise in a manufacturing environment.
  • Intermediate or higher Excel skills working with large data sets.
