Mine Geologist

CSG Talent is proud to collaborate with a global leader in underground mining and assist them in the search of a Mine Geologist on a residential basis.

In this exciting role you will provide quality mine geology services and work collaboratively with the broader Mining Team to maximise return for the operation. Mapping/sampling and the efficient extraction of ore, assess stoping panels for geological risk and liaise with the Senior Geologists to mitigate with grade control activities. You will also assist the Senior Geologist to schedule, plan and implement grade control and exploratory drilling programs.

Primary Duties:

• Accurate face mapping and sampling abilities
• Planning of sludge holes, sludge sampling and processing
• Tracking and reporting of ore movements and stockpile management
• Well-developed communication, liaison and supervisory skills, effectively working with Engineers, Geotechs, Mining crew and Mining Supervisors to assist in achieving daily and weekly plan.
• Logging of drill core where required.
• Knowledge of gold assaying techniques, ore mineralogy, and QAQC of sample results.
• Daily reporting and presentation of previous 24hr mining activities.
• Ability to work respectfully within a team environment under production pressure, managing time effectively.
• Well-developed communication, liaison and supervisory skills.
• Ability to work both safely and efficiently and to motivate others to do so.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Geology tertiary qualification.
• Previous experience as an Underground Geologist.
• Knowledge of sampling, assay and QAQC methodology
• Microsoft Office Suite, Vulcan, and Acquire knowledge preferred.
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills and a "team-oriented" approach.
• Demonstrated high regard for safe-working rules and procedures, with evidence of non-risk-taking behaviour and encouragement of similar behaviour in others.
