A Typical Day:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the effective execution of all maintenance and projects within the plants at HCC, ensuring smooth operations, minimizing downtime, and maintaining a safe working environment. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the plant operations and achieving high-quality, low-cost objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of a highly skilled, well-trained, and engaged maintenance team.
  • Ensure a safe and effective working environment for all maintenance team members.
  • Manage and oversee that all maintenance tasks are completed economically, efficiently, and safely.
  • Conduct daily team meetings covering safety topics and weekly meetings focused on equipment, processes, and plant expansion.
  • Review planned job packages for completeness and accuracy.
  • Refine and finalize labor, parts, and priorities for all tasks to optimize maintenance operations.
  • Plan and schedule preventive and predictive maintenance activities to ensure the continuous operation of equipment.
  • Assign maintenance tasks to mechanics at the start of each shift and throughout the day, ensuring that schedules are adhered to.
  • Make tactical decisions to keep maintenance tasks as close to the schedule as possible while addressing any issues that arise.
  • Follow up with mechanics to identify opportunities for improving planning and job methods.
  • Provide detailed reports on downtime issues, promoting proactive responses and improvement practices.
  • Assist in maintaining the storeroom, shop, and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Use SAP to create and close work orders, enter equipment data, track inventory, and train mechanics on the proper use of the SAP system.
  • Foster effective "partnering" relationships with all Operations personnel.
  • Provide and promote excellence in customer service both internally and externally.
  • Maintain "On-Call" status to address emergency maintenance issues when required.

What You Will Need:

  • High School Diploma with 4 years of related experience, or an Associate's degree with 3 years of related experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 1 year of related experience.
  • Availability to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts (days/swings/graveyard).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

What Will Put You Ahead:

  • Bachelor's degree with 2 years of related experience or a Master's degree in a related field.
  • SAP knowledge and experience using the system for work order management and inventory tracking.
  • Previous experience leading a maintenance team.
  • Tactical knowledge of production operations and experience reading P&ID diagrams and technical manuals.
