Senior Flight Software Engineer

Opportunity for a long term contractor (10+ years experienced) and a direct hire (5+ years experienced)

Location: California, US

CSG talent is partnered with a standout company in the autonomous aviation space redefining how aircraft operate. They've already completed fully autonomous, gate-to-gate flights and are setting new benchmarks in flight safety, system reliability, and FAA certification. At the core of their platform is flight software that acts as the brain of the aircraft, telling the plane where it is, interpreting a flight plan, and translating that into motor control to fly the aircraft. It's an end-to-end system that interfaces with sensors, control loops, and fault detection logic, and it's being deployed in real aircraft today.
They're looking for Flight Software Engineers-both mid-level (5-7+ years, direct hire) and senior (10-15+ years, contractors) to help lead verification and development of embedded, safety-critical software for autonomous flight. Think bare-metal C/C++, DO-178C-level software assurance, and lab + in-flight testing with real hardware.

You'd get to:

  • Build and verify flight-critical systems that control actual aircraft
  • Shape the verification tooling and strategy from the ground up
  • Work cross-functionally across the entire aircraft platform
  • See your code fly-from lab benches to runway tests

Please note:

  • The direct hire position requires onsite work at their headquarters.
  • The contract role offers remote flexibility, but candidates must bring 10+ years of experience in safety-critical software development.
  • H1B and TN VISA's can be supported only on contracting hourly pay solution
