The Opportunity: EXPAT opportunity at a challenging mining operation in Asia, responsible for the development & improvement of the safety & health plan, strategy, programs and systems. Working with site VP's / Directors to provide expert knowledge of international mining standards across the site.

You will lead a large team across medical, mine rescue, emergency response, training, risk, hygiene. A key part of the position will be developing and implementing strategy, fire systems, programs in order to continually improve performance in the department.

Key Focus:

• Work alongside site VP's and Directors
• Lead site Emergency Response functions
• Complex Safety and Fire systems
• Lead OHS meetings
• ER equipment maintenance
• Coaching & developing local workforce
• Lead and set standards for safety & health team
• Support senior operational team across the site
• Emergency response and mine rescue
• Contractor management

Core competences / Must Haves:

• Bachelor's degree in OHS
• Mining safety & health leadership experience
• Emergency management & mine rescue
• Expatriate experience in Africa, PNG, Asia, South America, Pacific
• Underground mining
• Strong coaching ability
• Ability to lead with authority in challenging jurisdictions globally
