Electrical Domain Expert - EMEA

Are you an electrical engineer with HV project experience?

Do you have a strong understanding of grid code and requirements for connecting to HV grid?

Are you based in Europe and fluent in English?

We are working with a global, multibillion-euro company who are leaders in providing energy and automation digital solutions, with an aim to be a digital partner for sustainability and efficiency. Due to the growth of their consulting services business across Europe and the Middle East they are looking for an Electrical Domain Expert to be based anywhere in Europe.

This Electrical Domain Expert will report to the Domain Experts Leader and be responsible for working hand in hand with consultants and other domain experts to build solutions for their clients. You will be working closely with the clients to understand their challenges and propose solutions, identifying the right level of engineering according to project stage (which can range from feasibility to detailed design). The preferred candidate will have demonstrated experience in power system generation and distribution (HV and MV) as well as in connection to distribution and transmission system.

Key responsibilities for this Electrical Domain Expert are:

  • Acting as Project Manager for the customer for the project execution as a technical leader and expert.
  • Engaging with back-office to delegate power studies.
  • Co-developing technical solution with other domain experts (process, thermal, control system) from electrical design from HV up to LV.
  • Developing electrical calculations for power distribution (loads, equipment sizing, feeder sizing, voltage selection, grounding) using ETAP or working with experts in charge of developing ETAP detailed calculation (load flow, short circuit calculation, dynamic modelling).
  • Assisting clients in high voltage grid application process from a technical standpoint.
  • Managing different sources of energy and design its integration (Renewable conventional generation)
  • Simulating multiple cases to propose optimal power system design.
  • Proposing a revised operation philosophy to the electrified system.

Essential experience

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering with HV experience.
  • Understanding of grid code and requirements for connecting to HV grid
  • Practical ability to design and size HV equipment and switchyards, including reactive power compensation.
  • Power system design and optimization techniques (ETAP knowledge is a plus)
  • Fluent in English.
