Key Responsibilities:
EHS Program Development:
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS programs and policies.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal EHS regulations.
- Conduct regular EHS audits and inspections to identify and mitigate risks.
Safety Training and Awareness:
- Conduct safety training sessions for all employees, including new hire orientation and ongoing education.
- Develop and promote safety awareness campaigns and initiatives.
- Ensure employees understand and adhere to safety protocols and procedures.
Incident Management:
- Lead investigations into workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses.
- Analyze incident data to identify root causes and develop corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed records of incidents and follow up on corrective actions.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
- Perform regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards.
- Implement measures to reduce or eliminate risks to employees and the environment.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of risk mitigation strategies.
Environmental Compliance:
- Ensure the bakery's operations comply with environmental regulations.
- Oversee waste management, recycling programs, and sustainability initiatives.
- Conduct environmental impact assessments and develop improvement plans.
Health and Wellness Programs:
- Develop and promote health and wellness programs to enhance employee well-being.
- Address ergonomic issues and implement solutions to reduce workplace injuries.
- Provide resources and support for employees to maintain a healthy work-life balance.
Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures.
- Conduct regular emergency drills and training sessions.
- Ensure all emergency equipment is properly maintained and accessible.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and submit required EHS reports to regulatory agencies.
- Maintain accurate records of all EHS activities, training, and incidents.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on EHS performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an EHS Manager or similar role, preferably in a food production environment.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and standards.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in using EHS management software and tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Work Environment:
- You will work in a fast-paced bakery production environment.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- Occasional travel may be required for training and professional development.
