Our client is a growing Food meat alternative manufacturing organisaiton. They are looking for a strong Controls Engineer

The role:

The Controls Engineer is responsible for the implementation of technical projects/new equipment, maintenance of the industrial network, ongoing PLC work, shop floor data collection, and will assist with resolution of technical issues with the plant.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • All plant personnel have the responsibility to monitor and report any deviations from our Food Safety and Food Quality (HACCP & SQF) programs to your immediate supervisor.
  • Ensure plant industrial systems are maintained at optimum efficiency.
  • Program systems to interact with the industrial network such as corporate ERP or factory efficiency systems.
  • Be a resource for data mining for plant and coordinate operations.
  • Assist in implementation of programming for plant capital projects.
  • Make necessary changes to current systems to meet operational needs.
  • Participate in the selection process for new equipment.
  • Assist with implementation of projects as chosen by the plant teams.
  • Support the Maintenance Manager during project implementation.
  • SQF Support - Responsible for development, training, implementation and compliance to the SQF program.

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Degree or Certification in Engineering or equivalent work experience required.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment or industrial programming.
  • 3-5 years' experience in management and employee development.
  • Experience working with cross functional teams, in a dynamic environment.
  • Thorough understanding of plant operations.
  • Food Experience or manufacturing experience
