As part of this exciting growth, we are seeking control engineers to join our automation team in either Sydney or Brisbane. About you:
You are an ambitious individual eager to work at the forefront of designing, developing, and implementing automation control systems and solutions.

The Role
As a Junior Controls Engineer, you will support senior engineers with control system design and delivery while also providing support for systems already in the field. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with PLC programming and HMI development for material handling projects
  • Supporting control system commissioning and testing for assigned projects
  • Occasional assistance with updating electrical designs
  • Providing after-sales technical support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution on-site or remotely
  • Collaborating with mechanical and electrical teams to ensure strong cross-functional integration
  • Ensuring compliance with both internal standards and customer specifications
  • Occasional interstate and international travel

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a postgraduate degree with at least two years of experience in control systems (salary based on experience)
  • Have experience in supporting detailed system design (electrical or controls)
  • Be knowledgeable in PLC configuration, programming, and commissioning
  • Have a baseline understanding of electrical engineering
  • Be eager to listen, learn, and contribute to a dynamic team

Advantageous Skills

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as VBA, Python, or Java
  • Experience with specific PLC platforms (Siemens S7 TIA preferred, Rockwell, or OMRON)
  • Technical proficiency in safety systems and functional safety principles
