Position Overview
This role involves overseeing all financial operations and controls for a dynamic and expanding business with projected annual revenue of $400M. As a critical member of the leadership team, this individual will hold comprehensive responsibility for finance and accounting operations across the business unit. The position includes direct management of finance personnel, including controllers, coordinators, and other accounting professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the financial and accounting functions of the business unit, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
  • Manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP standards. Provide in-depth analysis of financial results and trends.
  • Oversee cash flow management, including forecasting, collections, and disbursements, while maintaining strong communication with the parent organization.
  • Ensure the implementation and monitoring of robust internal controls that meet public company compliance standards (e.g., SOX). Anticipate financial risks and lead remediation efforts to prevent audit issues.
  • Act as the primary liaison with external auditors during audits, focusing on construction-related financial activities.
  • Drive efficiency across the finance department by automating processes and implementing productivity enhancements.
  • Stay current on technical accounting standards, including revenue recognition and other GAAP considerations relevant to the industry.
  • Provide actionable financial insights and recommendations to executive leadership to improve business outcomes.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives and handle ad hoc projects as required.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA designation preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in finance and accounting, preferably in the construction or project-driven industries.
  • Expertise in financial tools such as Excel, JD Edwards, Hyperion, and ESSBase is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to work both strategically and tactically, driving new initiatives while handling operational priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to engage effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent multitasking and problem-solving abilities, coupled with attention to detail and a results-driven mindset.
  • Demonstrated capability to generate insightful reports and translate data into actionable plans.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate effectively and manage competing priorities.
