We are working with a global, $multimillion client who are technology innovators, custom manufacturers, and electrical systems troubleshooters for heavy industry. They design, engineer, produce, and service industrial power systems and control systems, specialising in electric rotating machinery for high-demand applications across mining, mills, and heavy industry. Due to growth, they are looking for a Business Development Manager to be based in Perth Australia.

This Business Development Manager role will report to the National Sales Manager and be responsible for effective planning, execution of strategic sales and implementation of business development objectives to ensure they develop the current customer base and developing new clients, with a focus on autonomous solutions.

Key functions for this Business Development Manager role are:

  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships in existing and new accounts within the Mining, Mineral & Heavy Industries.
  • Meeting and exceeding sales targets for system sales and related products and services.
  • Driving sales through new business prospecting and new market share to maximise revenue objectives with a focus on profitability and cash flow.
  • Effectively planning and executing sales and business development strategy to deploy action plans that achieve sustainable growth and budget goals.
  • Coordinating and delivering pre-sales presentations and product demonstrations.
  • Utilising a customer-centric approach to understand needs and align our solution accordingly, when supporting current business and actively prospecting or pursuing opportunities.
  • Identifying prospective customer challenges, industry knowledge and competitor threats.
  • Effectively articulating value and negotiate commercials to close complex solution sales.
  • Reporting sales plans and forecast accurately and timely into CRM systems to provide insights on the customer perspective, funnel management, current/future projects, and competitor activities.

Essential requirements are:

  • A University or Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience of technical sales within the mining industry.
  • Experience with mobile equipment, electrical rotating equipment, or autonomous solutions.
