Business Development Manager - Utility-Scale BESS

Our client is a leading international investment company in the utility-scale energy sector, seeking a BESS Business Development Manager to take ownership of projects from acquisition to ready-to-build across core markets in Western Europe. This position offers an opportunity to be part of an exciting growth phase within the company, with potential for seniority depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships to accelerate project sourcing.
  • Lead the business case from project acquisition to ready-to-build, ensuring coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Cultivate relationships with key stakeholders across the energy sector to contribute to the success of the business.
  • Monitor market trends, business strategies, risks, and opportunities to inform business decisions.
  • Drive decision-making processes, ensuring all relevant approvals are secured at key stages.

Your Profile:

  • 5+ years of experience in business development within the utility-scale energy industry.
  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and risk assessment skills, with a proven track record in structuring investment decisions.
  • Commercial deal negotiation expertise, including structuring deals and preparing decision-making documents for senior management.
  • Collaborative and results-oriented, with the ability to build trust and drive success across diverse teams.
  • Master's degree in energy economics, finance, business, or a related field.
  • Fluency in English and German is required. French is highly desirable, with additional languages an advantage.
