Our client is at the forefront of cell and gene therapies (CGTs), which harness the power of modified cells or cellular matter to combat serious health conditions such as cancer, genetic disorders, immunodeficiencies, rare diseases, and more.

The role entails spearheading all global financial planning activities for the Company, providing strategic insight and leadership to enhance performance, productivity, and overall value creation. Key responsibilities include delivering impactful analyses to Senior Management, overseeing the efficient preparation of financial plans, identifying risks and opportunities, optimizing resource allocation, and ensuring effective communication of progress towards financial goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide insightful analysis to Senior Management, highlighting performance results and their impact on business plans, aiming to enhance performance, productivity, and value creation.
  • Oversee and coordinate the timely preparation of long-range plans, annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and financial presentations to the Board of Directors.
  • Understand the key business activities and strategies affecting the profit and loss (P&L) statement and communicate risks and opportunities in financial plans effectively.
  • Develop strategies to optimize resource allocation across the organization.
  • Communicate progress towards financial plans/goals to management and devise corrective actions as necessary.
  • Implement, maintain, and administer financial planning systems.
  • Develop and maintain financial analyses for key initiatives and special projects.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Finance Team on financial close and required SEC filings.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting Finance; CPA/MBA or MS in Information Systems preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of financial planning and analysis/budgeting experience, preferably in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing financial systems, including ERP or planning systems implementation.
  • Track record of leading financial planning activities for a firm.

Other Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficiency in forecasting systems, tools, and models.
  • Advanced skills in PC-based software/windows applications such as Microsoft Office products - Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Experience with financial systems management such as NetSuite, SAP, Hyperion, or other packages.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence others and manage direct reports effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented, with the ability to lead and influence others.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively to individuals and groups.
